Who am I and Why am I here?

My name is Rebecca Calamar (it used to be Calamari (Boschi Calamari) until my Great Grandmother took the i off. I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY. Flatbush, baby! I love my Caribbean neighborhood (Although I’m thinking about moving to New Orleans. Or back to LA.  I need a change in scenery). I love to travel. I love street art. I love photography (iPhone and Canon). I love cemeteries. I love sunsets and moonsets. I love islands. I love fish tacos. I love red wine. I love REAL shit and real people. I LOVE.

I created this website for several reasons. Some of which I’m not even sure of quite yet! Mostly I wanted to share real advice about what to do and what not to do on your travels. Time is precious. Do the research and don’t waste it!

I also wanted a platform to share my photos with the world. And eventually sell my photos TO the world (still figuring that part out).

AND I love learning about different religious and cultural traditions so I wanted to write about those as well.

Last but not least I hope to fit in a genealogy aspect. I got interested in genealogy when I was trying to get my Italian citizenship (denied). I became a member of Find A Grave and I help people in the NY area find graves of their ancestors in cemeteries near me. I thought it would be fun to help people find their ancestors during my travels as well since I usually visit cemeteries on every trip anyway.

So yeah….I think that about covers it.

Thanks for visiting my travel/photography/culture/cemetery blog!

One love.

Am I right?????!!?
